What to Look For
Palm material
Most waterskiing gloves use Amara or Kevlar palms. Amara offers a reliable, durable grip that works well across all levels, while Kevlar provides tougher, longer-lasting protection for more intense or frequent use. Some gloves use Aramid fibre for a similar level of reinforcement with a precise, connected feel.
Finger style
Full-finger gloves offer the most protection and are the most popular choice for waterskiing. Some models feature pre-curved fingers, which are shaped to follow the natural position of the hand on a handle, reducing fatigue over longer sets.
Closure system
A secure, well-fitting glove is essential. Most use velcro wrist straps, while higher-end models from Radar feature a BOA fit system for micro-adjustable precision. Some gloves also include a dowel or Clincher-Grip system, which transfers pull strain from the palm and fingers to the forearm, helping you hold on longer with less effort.
Inside-out construction
A number of performance gloves are built with seams on the outside rather than the inside, removing the irritation points that can cause discomfort during extended sets.
