Nyord Solu Hooded Wetsuit

Introducing the Nyord Solu Hooded Wetsuit

Cold-Water Performance, Refined by Design

Designing a true cold-water wetsuit is a balancing act. Maximum warmth is essential, but not at the cost of movement, comfort or performance in the water.

With the Nyord Solu Hooded 6/5/4mm, we set out to create a wetsuit that delivers protection in harsh conditions while still feeling responsive, flexible and confidence-inspiring session after session.

After extensive testing, refinement and real-world use, we are proud to offer the Solu in a 6/5/4mm hooded option.

Tested Where It Matters Most

The Solu has been developed and tested in genuine cold-water environments. We tested in the cold water of the Lost Shore wave pool, as well as through multiple long winter sessions, early mornings and exposed conditions where warmth, durability and reliability are non-negotiable.

Every panel placement, thickness choice and seam detail has been refined to ensure the wetsuit performs when it matters most.

The result is a wetsuit that keeps your core warm, protects vital areas from wind and water ingress, and still allows you to paddle, pop up and move freely.

Intelligent Thickness Mapping for Maximum Warmth

Rather than relying on a single thickness throughout, the Solu uses strategic panel mapping to place warmth exactly where it’s needed, while reducing bulk in high-movement zones.

As shown in the panel layout:

6mm panels are positioned through the core and upper torso, where heat retention is critical in cold water.
5mm panels provide additional insulation through key areas such as the chest and upper legs, helping maintain overall body temperature.
4mm panels are used throughout the arms and legs to balance warmth with flexibility.
3mm panels are carefully placed in high-mobility zones, including the shoulders and underarms, ensuring unrestricted paddling and natural movement.

This considered construction allows the Solu to feel noticeably more flexible than traditional winter wetsuits, without sacrificing warmth.

Built with Yulex® Natural Rubber

The Solu is made using Yulex® natural rubber, completely neoprene-free and sourced from responsibly managed rubber plantations. The latest Yulex 2.0 formulation improves stretch, durability and thermal performance while significantly reducing environmental impact.
Combined with recycled internal linings and carefully selected materials throughout, the Solu represents Nyord’s commitment to building performance wetsuits with a lighter footprint.

Warmth That Lasts Longer

Inside the suit, plush high-pile thermal linings run through the torso and down the arms, trapping warmth close to the body while remaining soft, quick-drying and comfortable for long sessions.

To further enhance warmth and durability, waterproof stretch seam tape has been added across the entire lower half of the suit, reinforcing key areas and reducing water ingress.

The integrated hood completes the package, offering additional protection from wind chill and cold flushes without feeling restrictive.

The Result: A True Cold-Water Solution

The Nyord Solu Hooded 6/5/4mm wetsuit is the product of careful testing, refinement and purpose-driven design.

It delivers the warmth required for cold-water surfing while maintaining the flexibility and performance expected from a modern wetsuit.

Whether you’re duck diving winter swells, paddling for long periods or staying out longer than planned, the Solu is the one for you.

If you’re looking for a winter wetsuit that’s warm, reliable, performance-focused and built with sustainability at its core, the Solu is designed to be trusted, session after session, season after season.
