Developed from the Surge Performance Race Shoe, the Surge X carries forward the same race-ready fit and deck feel, while introducing an industry-first waterproof sailing sneaker construction. A breathable waterproof membrane is fully sealed around the shoe, creating a waterproof structure that keeps water out without sacrificing comfort during extended wear. An integrated waterproof ankle gaiter with weatherproof zip closure and fully taped seams provides additional protection in spray-heavy conditions, while a neoprene ankle opening with Velcro® adjustment allows stretch and adaptability across a wide range of foot shapes.
Underfoot, a hybrid rubber outsole with dual-purpose primary and secondary tread patterning delivers confident grip across wet decks and mixed surfaces, supporting secure footing during manoeuvres, transitions, and movement on and off the boat. TPU toe and side panels increase abrasion resistance in high-wear zones, while a ripstop nylon heel panel adds durability without adding bulk. Cold-cemented midsole construction helps maintain structure and long-term durability, and a pull-tight lacing system with a stow-away tongue pocket keeps the fit secure and streamlined.
